Živko Čingo

Živko Čingo (13 August 1935 – 11 August 1987) Macedonian writer, born in Velgosti, near Ohrid.

He studied literature at the University of Sts Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. Graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. For a period worked as high school teacher in Ohrid. When he came to Skopje he was engaged in a variety of activities – worked with “Studentski zbor” and “Mlad borec”, with Radio-Television Skopje, the Centre for Political Studies, Committee for Culture, was also an advisor at the Ministry of Culture of R.Macedonia. Was director of the Macedonian National Theatre in Skopje. Member of the Macedonian Writers’ Association since 1963.

Awards include: “Racinovo priznanie”, “11th October”, “1st May”, “Steriino pozorje”
